Biography
Cora Würmell betreut als Kuratorin die chinesischen und japanischen Bestände der Porzellansammlung der Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden. Sie hat in Deutschland, Frankreich und Spanien in verschiedenen Keramikwerkstätten gearbeitet. Während ihres Studiums der Fächer ostasiatische und europäische Kunstgeschichte an der Universität Heidelberg, verbrachte sie zwei Auslandssemester an der Kyoto Universität in Japan. Ihr Studium hat sie mit einer Magisterarbeit zu japanischer Gegenwartskeramik abgeschlossen und anschließend ein Volontariat am Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture in Kalifornien absolviert.
Aktuell leitet sie das internationale Forschungsprojekt zur Erschließung und Publikation der ostasiatischen Porzellanbestände. Die Ergebnisse dieses Projektes werden auf der speziell dafür entwickelten digitalen Plattform „The Royal Dresden Porcelain Collection“ erscheinen.
